Erik Berglin, born 1980, recived an MFA 2010 from Valand, Gothenburg, now lives in Stockholm. His works are often humorus and always has a smart twist. They range from interventions in public space, fact/fictional storytelling and examination and appropriation of social phenomena and material found online. In recent projects he has started generating imagery using customized computer algorithms. With the use of appropriated materials mostly borrowed from the Internet Berglin creates situations in which everyday images are altered or detached from their natural function. His works feature coincidental, accidental and unexpected connections that make it possible to revise art history and even better, to complement it.
